Day Care FAQ
Do I need a reservation?
There’s no need to make a day care reservation as long as we have a copy of your pet’s current up to date vaccination records.
What vaccinations are required for dogs for day care?
Dogs are required to have current vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella. Please note that the Bordetella vaccination must be given 5 or more days prior to your dog's day care stay.
Do I need to bring my pet in before his first day care appointment for an evaluation?
Day Care evaluations will take place the first day your pet comes in for day care. We will spend some extra time with them evaluating them. Our highly trained activity staff will get to know your pet and place them in the right group where they’ll have the most fun!
What kind of dogs will my dog be in a group with?
After your pet’s had an temperament test, KPR’s play yard staff will place them in the correct group with other pets of their same temperament. We don’t base anything off your pet’s breed. We want your dog to have the most fun while he’s here and will try very hard to get him into the right group where they’ll fit in best. If for some reason the first group we pick doesn’t work, we’ll try another group until we find the perfect fit! If for any reason one of our trained staff decides that your dog would be better in a one on one pampering session rather than socializing, we’ll go ahead and make that switch and include your dog in our Individual Day Care and notify you of the change. Our activity staff has had extensive training and knows just what it takes to keep your dog happy and healthy while spending the day at KPR!
Will you feed my dog his food during his day at day care?
Of course, we will. Go ahead and bring in a baggie or container of your pet’s food and we will make sure he eats while he’s with us. If you want to you can also bring in a treat or two. We do provide cookie breaks throughout the day when your pet’s in for day care but if he has a sensitive stomach or you want him to have his own treats bring them in instead.
Can my dog have extra activities or treats during his day at day care?
Absolutely! We have a large selection of additional services to add on to your dog’s day. You can add on anything! Ask our office staff about additional services that can be added on and they’ll be more than happy to go through them with you!
Can my dog be groomed while he’s in for day care?
You can certainly have him groomed while he’s here for day care. What a convenience for you to have him come play and then get freshened up all in the same day! We offer a wide variety of grooming services, we will be more than happy to go over them with you. When making a day care reservation let us know you want to set up a grooming appointment and we will handle the rest!
